Getting Rid of Jealousy/Envy and Turning it Into a Positive Manifesting Opportunity

In my last post I mentioned that manifesting greatness in your life is difficult if you only spend an hour a day visualizing and the next 16 hours having negative thoughts or not believing your visualizations/affirmations. Therefore, part of the process is finding ways to shift your thinking and have positive thoughts as much of the time as possible (it gets easier and easier, I promise). So in this entry I’d like to share an exercise/technique for getting rid of negative, low-vibrating emotions, like jealousy and envy, and turning them into strong, positive manifestation opportunities, which in turn also increases the amount of time in your day that you are engaging in positive thinking.

Part 1-

The first step is to program the affirmations listed below into your mind. You can do this by repeating them to yourself over and over during a light state of meditation (most highly recommended), in a state of relaxation, right before falling asleep, or if for some reason you aren’t able to do any of the above, just write them (or the one you choose depending on what you are working on manifesting) 10 times a day on a piece of paper.


For health-

“Throughout each moment of every day, every time I see a healthy person, I will SEE myself in my own mind as having the same kind of health.”

For prosperity-

“Throughout each moment of every day, every time I see a prosperous person, I will SEE myself in my own mind as a prosperous person.

For love-
“Throughout each moment of every day, every time I see a person who has love in his or her life, I will SEE myself in my own mind as a person who is enjoying love in my life.”

See the pattern? You can fill in the blanks for whatever you are trying to attract in your life and get more specific if you’d like. Just basically make it so that every time you see someone who has what you are manifesting, you immediately see yourself as having it as well (beauty, fun, joy, harmonious relationships, travel, your favorite car, whatever). This will remind your brain to practice visualization throughout the day and use these reminders as opportunities rather than times to dwell in negativity. Re-programming!

Part 2-

So let’s say you are now out and about and you see someone who has what you are trying to manifest. Or hey, maybe it’s something you weren’t even particularly trying to manifest, but now that you see it you’re like “Hmm, I want that too!”

Well instead of thinking, “I want that too!”, after having programmed your subconscious mind with the above affirmations, this will now be a visualization/positive thinking opportunity for you.

Since I said we’d work with the negative emotions of jealousy and envy (which bring negativity into your life if you don’t check them), let’s use “beauty” as an example to work with because so many women have been programmed to feel jealousy/envy or feel themselves as lacking when they see another woman who possesses physical beauty (a problem on so many levels). But when you are doing this, go ahead and substitute beauty for whatever it is you are manifesting (money, cool job, health, etc.).

So let’s go back to you being out and about, and all of a sudden you see an extremely beautiful woman. And you’d like to increase your own physical beauty. Instead of feeling jealous or lacking, this is now a wonderful manifestation opportunity!

Step by Step:

1)Look at the woman. Of course, you should try to not be obvious.

2) Remember that we are all ONE. You are one with EVERYBODY, EVERYTHING. So you are ONE with HER. You are part of her and ARE her. You two are ONE.

I will add a small breakdown of this concept at the end of the blog for those who have a hard time with this concept, since it should make sense to you on some level for the exercise to be super effective. But don’t worry, it will still work if you don’t really get it yet. Because your soul gets it.

3) Now, focus on feeling ONE with that person. And trust me, it’s DIFFICULT to hold the energy of jealousy/envy when you feel one with the person. So those negative feelings should immediately subside at this moment. And such feelings will arise less and less often.

Focus on knowing that you and her are the same and that what you have is hers and what she has is yours. Therefore the beauty that she possesses is yours as well. Repeat in your head, “I am one with her. I am one with her. We are both the same. I am one with her beauty, I am one with her beauty. Thank you Universe for my beauty.” And start feeling the energy of oneness and of having what you desire. This part is more for the concept to sink into your brain and to get ready to effectively do the next step.

4) In your head start saying, “I AM THAT, I AM.” And if you’d like, you can also switch it up to saying, “I AM THAT ______ (fill in with what you are drawing into your life), I AM.” In this case it would be, “I AM THAT BEAUTY, I AM.” And if you can say it out loud, go for it. It has a wonderful vibration.

5) On the “I AM THAT” exhale and on the “I AM” inhale.

On the “I AM THAT” you are telling God/the Universe that you ARE that and on the “I AM” imagine it's God telling you that yes, you are that. But notice God is saying it using the word “I,” instead of “you” (“I AM”). That’s because you are ALSO One with God. So God is claiming for you what you desire, AS YOURSELF. He’s saying that you are Him and yes, you are that which you desire as well. You have the Power of God inside of you and you are using it when you are saying this. So go ahead and try to FEEL what you are saying. You are announcing to the Universe that you are that which you are attracting and God is telling you, yup that's yours. You are that. And I am also you. So yes, “I Am.” And if you're saying it out loud you'll actually hear the 2 parts sounding differently (cause of the inhale/exhale).

6) As you’re saying it, visualize that you are that or that you have it. For this case visualize yourself having the beauty you desire. For other cases, visualize yourself as having the car, the travel, the money, happiness, whatever.

7) FEEL THE ENERGY/EMOTIONS OF HAVING IT! And then feel GRATITUDE FOR having it and let that gratitude flow up and down your body.


This exercise can be done in as little or as much time as you’d like. I definitely recommend making sure you feel the emotion of having the thing and the energy of gratitude flowing through you before you finish the exercise.

This exercise is wonderful because it serves to get rid of common negative emotions (jealousy/envy) that hold you back AND turn them into a very positive experience/opportunity! Now you’re practicing visualization/gratitude throughout your day at random times instead of just for a little bit before bed. Now more of your day has been spent on positive thoughts. It will also do wonders for your relationships and interactions with other people. AND this is a wonderful, super effective manifestation exercise!

See, since “The Secret” didn’t really delve into the concepts it’s based on, a lot of people do the exercises in the movie, but have a hard time actually feeling like they have the things they are giving thanks for and actually believing it’s already theirs. Feeling ONENESS and knowing you ALREADY have something BECAUSE you are ONE with it, enhances ALL your manifestation practices. You’ll no longer feel like you’re lying to yourself and your gratitude will be genuine! LOL, because if I remember correctly, “The Secret” tells you to really believe you already have what you are manifesting, but doesn’t really tell you how to make yourself believe it! And believing it’s already yours is a crucial step! . If you do any work with things like, “A Course in Miracles,” a good amount of time is spent mastering the feeling of being ONE with everything and with God. That sets the stage for miracles! Once you have Oneness down, you can make anything happen.

As an aside on the power of belief, Dr. Bernie Siegel, a former Yale professor and surgeon, has done research on Multiple Personality Disorder that shows that patients instantly change their physical bodies depending on what personality they believe they are taking at the time. I mean things like their EYE COLOR changing and physical marks disappearing! That's how powerful belief is.

Also, if you want more info on the “I AM THAT, I AM” phrase, definitely check out, “The Moses Code.” In that book, those famous words, their history, power, importance, and their use in manifesting is thoroughly explained. The book explains that it’s the phrase God gave Moses and that allowed Moses to manifest so many miracles. The phrase can be used in meditation as well and it has to power to pull you in really deep! The energy of the phrase is incredible and I’ve seen it used in many different meditation practices/schools/prayers.

Alright, the blog entry is over, but I’ll attempt a small explanation for those struggling with the concept of Oneness. Science isn’t my strength so I’ll try to keep it super simple, but there are tons of books on this stuff. And there is a GREAT energy healing book by an AMAZING healer, who was formerly a NASA physicist, that gives a good summary of the science behind these concepts. The book is called “Hands of Light” and I definitely recommend it to anyone interested in becoming a healer or in learning more about energy healing.

But for now, here is my attempt at giving a little summary of ONE way to look at Oneness (and as you start doing this stuff more and more and meditating, it will suddenly just hit you eventually if it hasn’t already):

EVERYTHING on this planet is energy. NOTHING is really “solid.” Remember the atoms you learned about in science class? The things that are supposed to make up matter? Remember they were little energy packets of positives and negatives? And how easily particles can be transmuted into other particles? Gaining and losing electrons…? And nothing is ever really still? Everything is always moving and blending. If you remember basic science class, you remember how atoms lose and gain other electrons from surrounding atoms and how they form different molecules. Everything is in constant flux and everything is energy. There is no empty space because even the air around us is made of energy, the chair you’re sitting on is energy, the sky is energy, your heart is energy (how do EKGs work? Measuring the electrical activity in your heart), your brain is energy, your thoughts are energy (can be recorded on brain scans now!), your emotions are energy, the sound of your voice is energy…. How do the voices coming out of your speakers make it to your ears? And your friend’s ears at the same time? Notice how energies are always blending together. The moon pulling the tide in the ocean...The sound going into your ears, the air going into your lungs, the light into your eyes. Your hand touching the air around you. There is NO separateness. It’s all an electromagnetic field.

Visually I think about it as all of us (including objects, air, everything) being LITTLE BLOBS of energy that make up a BIG BLOB of energy. And so we’re really all One. We all make up this big blob of energy we’re a part of and that energy is constantly traveling through. And so we’re all connected and everything you want is already in this big blob of energy that you are. And that thing you want is also you because you are part of it. So its ALL ALREADY YOURS. You are your own little blob, but your little blob makes up part of the big blob and it’s impossible to not be connected regardless of what your ego tells you. All these blogs make up ONE. LOL, I hope I was able to somewhat explain that. And sorry for the terminology, lol, that’s just my own way of looking at it. Hope these paragraphs at least helped with the concept!

So You've Read "The Secret...." Now What?

Ah, “The Secret.” One of the favorite “mixed feelings” topics in the Metaphysics community.

On one hand, it did wonders for spreading the idea/concept of The Law of Attraction and bringing it to the mainstream. On the other hand, it was so simplified that it mislead and confused many people… Which led to people believing things like “The Law of Attraction only works for me sometimes.” NOPE, it works all the time and it works for everybody. You just only got a portion of the info……

The Law of Attraction works. ALL THE TIME. Whether you want it to or not. That’s one of the biggest “problems” with it. It would be great to have a remote control to turn it on or off, but unfortunately there is no such thing. You attract energy in the frequency you are thinking at all the time. This means that if you spend an hour a day working on visualization and thinking positive thoughts, but spend the next 16 hours thinking negative thoughts… well what do you think is going to happen? It’s a 1 to 16 ratio there! And then people go and get mad talking about, “It doesn’t work!” It works TOO well!

“The Secret” really simplified “The Law of Attraction” without really going deep into Metaphysics concepts. It’s a great springboard and I definitely give it to clients who aren’t familiar with Metaphysics. But after you learn the basics and get familiar with the importance of gratitude and the tool of visualization, I’d definitely recommend follow up reading if you’d like to REALLY work with the Law of Attraction. And OF COURSE, I recommend working with the Law of Attraction because it gives you the tools to live your dreams!!!

So if you’re ready for the next step:

1) My favorite 2nd book to give to clients is always “The Moses Code.” I love “The Moses Code” because it gives you a special, effective, quick manifestation trick, it breaks down the principle that the law of attraction is based on (in a very simple way and hey that’s good to know if you’re working with it), it goes deeper into manifestation principles and gives stronger manifestation exercises, AND it gets you ready for the next spiritual level if you eventually want to go there (will explain below).

2) I also like to give clients Deepak Chopra’s, “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.” This book is a GREAT summary of important laws of the Universe/manifestation. It’s a very small book (takes about an hour to read) and packs excellent fundamental knowledge. It summarizes other important spiritual laws (that go hand in hand with manifestation) like “The Law of Minimum Effort” (which serves to re-wire your beliefs so you can get away from attracting pain and struggle!) and the sometimes tricky “Law of Detachment.” These are laws you should really get familiar with if you want to master manifesting.

3) And once you understand the Law of Attraction more thoroughly (by reading the books above), if you are ready to do the inner-work to get rid of all your negative, limiting beliefs that attract negative situations into your life, I always recommend Louise Hay’s “You Can Heal Your Life” as the fundamental book.

People often manifest their subconscious negative thoughts/beliefs (whether they believe in the Law of Attraction or not. Like I said, it’s always working). If you hold negative beliefs, such as “Life is hard,” “Life is a struggle,” “Money is the root of all evil," then guess what you will experience in your life? And so inner work is required to get rid of these old beliefs (either by means of energy work or meditation or psychological work). Also, people often manifest their deepest fears… Because fears have so much energy behind them. And then there's the pervasive problem of guilt. When people are holding the energy of guilt subconsciously, they don’t feel like they deserve good and repel it as a result (self-sabotage).

For all the above reasons I definitely recommend reading Louise Hay’s book, taking it seriously, and actually DOING the exercises in the book. I know they seem corny at first, but that book can be completely life-changing if taken seriously. AND your manifesting abilities will greatly benefit from it.

So those are the next 3 books I’d recommend after “The Secret.”

Now, above I mentioned I’d talk a little more about “the next spiritual level." Most people on a “spiritual path” don’t manifest just for the sake of drawing material things into their lives. You work to master manifesting in order to stabilize all areas of your life, so that they don’t suck your energy out and you can focus on your spiritual path/evolution. Mastering manifesting is part of a greater path (Ascended Masters like Jesus and Buddha mastered manifesting before going on to higher levels) and if you want to be on that path rather than just gaining control of your physical life, then I’d definitely recommend Reverend Michael Beckwith’s “Life Visioning” 6-CD series. It’s also great for those who want a bigger picture of all this stuff and want to understand the greater point behind it (“The Secret” was highly focused on the material aspects….).

I LOVE the way Rev. Michael categorizes the 4 different stages of spiritual consciousness:

1) “The Victim Stage” - where you think things are always happening to you and that you have no control over events in your life,

2) “The Law Stage” (the manifesting stage)- where you learn about the Spiritual Laws of the Universe and realize that you were drawing everything into your life. And you start experimenting with the Universal laws until you master them. Which causes you to realize that God/the Universe is good and just. And that realization allows you to trust, which leads to stage 3,

3) “The Vessel Stage”- where you surrender and allow God to use you as a tool/vehicle. You go from “I control everything and make things happen” to “God does the work for me.”

4) “The One Stage”- where you realize you are ONE with God. God is no longer just working through you, you know that God IS you. This is the level of the mystics and that we aspire to be on.

Rev. Michael always emphasizes that it’s normal to go back and forth between the stages and be in different stages in different areas of your life (in the Bible, Jesus tends to go back and forth between stages 3 and 4 most of the time). It's not a linear thing. AND he also emphasizes that you can’t just SKIP or transcend a stage. So you want to make sure you master the manifesting stage! Anyhow, if you are interested in following a spiritual path of this sort, check out his CD series. I have it on my iPod and it makes my long airplane rides more enjoyable!

Do-It-Yourself Energy Healing Techniques

Hello! I was about to write up self-healing techniques for some of my clients before I head out to Greece for a couple of weeks and thought instead I would write a blog so that people could just visit it whenever they’d like.

I’d like to teach some very basic, useful and effective energy healing techniques that people can use on their own (you don’t have to be a healer for these to work). I’m just going to go over how to clean your own chakras, which in itself tends to get rid of a whole lot of sick feelings, pain/aches, negative emotions, anger, sadness, insomnia, etc. I’ll also go over a few more tips as well.

Here we go:

Important Rule #1:
To put energy into a chakra, you stroke clockwise.
To take negative energy OUT (i.e. to clean), you stroke COUNTER-CLOCKWISE.
If you are doing it on yourself, pretend the clock is sitting on the chakra facing out. So you would be stroking in circles upward toward your right shoulder. Kinda like in the karate films. They do those circles in the air to try to drain the energy out of their opponent. This is very important so don’t forget it!

Important Rule #2:
For EVERY ailment/condition, you clean your solar plexus chakra first.

Your solar plexus chakra is the soft spot between your ribs, right below your sternum (just move your hand down your chest until you reach the soft spot). It’s the place where if someone punches you, they knock the wind out of you. And it happens to be the place where you clean out stress, worries, anger, resentment, fear etc. (every emotion is an energy. Well actually, EVERYTHING is energy). All these emotions interfere with your health, so we clean here first.

And if you are trying to calm yourself down, get rid of a negative emotion, or make yourself fall asleep, the solar plexus is the chakra you will be working with the whole time.

For pain, you’ll clean your solar plexus chakra first, and then clean the negative energy out of whatever area hurts as well. If it’s on one of your limbs, clean the surrounding joints as well.

How To Clean:

1) Tap your throat with one of your hands and then imagine you are wearing a glove of green light around the hand you are going to use to clean. Make the glove LIGHT green (we call it “whitish green”). You tap your throat because that’s where your body produces green prana (prana= energy) and so you want to activate your throat first.

2) Then you take your green gloved-hand and start cleaning the chakra as you would a pot or a bowl. You just start scraping it in COUNTER-CLOCKWISE circles. You stroke 10 times a set. When I’m cleaning, my fingers are aimed in towards my chakra, kinda like I’m stirring the chakra (the glove of energy is scraping out all the negative energy).

3) When you finish your 10 strokes, you throw the energy from the chakra into a salt water bucket (table salt is fine) OR if you don’t have a salt water bucket, imagine a big green light/fire in the ground, and throw the negative energy into that green light. If you are going to be cleaning for more than 20 minutes though, get a salt water bucket (most people aren’t good at visualizing for more than 20 minutes).

4) After you throw the energy into the bucket, you spray your hand with alcohol, or if you don’t have an alcohol sprayer, clap your hands loudly and wash your hands when you are fully done cleaning.

5) Repeat this process until you start feeling calmer. Usually 3 to 4 sets is good enough, but it depends on how dirty your solar plexus chakra is. You can NEVER over-clean though, so if it’s your first time, I suggest you do lots of sets. :-)

6) You can make your cleaning circles really big and really small. It’s okay to alternate because you want to get every part of the chakra. And if you make them big, you also end up cleaning other organs (you don’t have to go as high as your heart though. Think more along the lines of a laundry dryer in your tummy).

7) If you want to be very thorough, you can go one step further by alternating colors. You do one set with your whitish green glove and then you do the next set with your whitish VIOLET glove. And you keep alternating like that. Green prana disintegrates negative energy and energy blocks. Violet prana dispels the negative energy, so alternating between those two makes the cleaning process go faster. Before you put your Violet glove on, tap your crown (the top of your head) because that’s where your body produces violet prana.

8) If you are trying to battle a negative emotion or insomnia, after you clean your solar plexus, tap your throat, and paint your solar plexus blue. Just imagine PALE BLUE (we stick to pastel colors when we’re starting out) light coming out of your hand and paint your solar plexus with that blue light. The effect of blue prana is to calm you down and make you sleepy. So paint away!

9) The above steps (minus the blue prana) can be used on any chakra. So if your throat hurts, you can do the above steps on your throat (actually the blue numbs, so you can paint it a little blue if you want. Not too much though because I don't want you accidentally numbing your creativity). If your head hurts, you can do the above steps on your head (crown, temples, or back of the head).

A few other tips to get rid of negative energy:

- Salt-water baths. I do these like 3 times a week myself because I do so many healings a day. Salt-water is great at pulling the negative energy out of your body (isn’t the ocean one of the greatest healers?). Water absorbs the energy and salt disintegrates it. Just soak for like 20-30 minutes. And soak up to your neck (your arms and neck should be under water). This is also very good for cleaning your basic chakra (which affects your prosperity). If you want it to be even more effective, use a couple drops of lavender oil. And if you REALLY need to get rid of serious negative energy, pour a packet of instant coffee into the tub (this is GREAT for arthritis). However, the coffee is so strong that you shouldn’t lay in that for more than 20 minutes because it will start pulling good energy out as well (my teacher, Master Co, always suggests you take some Ginseng if you are going to do a salt water/coffee bath).

-Speaking of Ginseng, I’ll share a couple supplement suggestions. For cleansing negative energy from your body/auric field, Acai is wonderful (it’s like a lot of violet prana we use to clean your chakras). Garlic is also wonderful since it’s a very strong cleanser (you can get it in tablet form and it doesn’t smell like anything). Green tea is another good negative energy cleanser. All of the above function to keep your chakras clean.

For energizing, I like Chinese Ginseng and Royal Jelly. Royal Jelly is not only good for energizing, but it keeps the “health rays” in your aura straight and healthy. When you are sick, your health rays are bent up (things tend to happen on the energetic level before they happen on the physical level, so it’s good to keep your auric field healthy and combat things before they reach a physical level). I personally take Royal Jelly every day and find that it helps my body combat things (like sun burns or mosquito bites) much faster than it normally would. And thank God, I’ve enjoyed perfect health since I started energy healing. One of the main points of energy healing is that we provide the energy your body needs in order to heal itself when your body isn’t producing it on its own (this tends to be the case with chronic conditions). That’s why certain supplements that provide energy can be useful. And needless to say, with all of the supplements above, try to stick to the natural/pure ones and not buy watered down varieties.

-For protection:

a) LOL, if someone is dumping negative energy on you (yelling at you or complaining/whining about their life) you can always cross your arms (they cross RIGHT over your solar plexus chakra! So they protect your emotion center from getting dirty). Just do it in a way that doesn’t make them angrier (the angry energy bounces back at them when you cross your arms). Master Co, suggests turning to the side when you cross your arms.

b) Silk. Real silk protects you against dirty/negative energy. I have a silk shawl and when someone starts unloading their dirty energy on me(so many people do this w/o meaning to), I wrap my shawl around myself (pretending like the room suddenly got colder). For men, silk ties guard your throat, heart, and solar plexus chakra (lucky).

c) And of course there are crystals. I’m going to write a separate blog on crystals at some point, but for now, know that crystals provide excellent protection. They break up negative energy before it reaches your auric field. I personally wear a rose quartz pendant around my neck, but you can wear an amesthyst, obsidian, onyx etc. Just make sure to ALWAYS clean your crystals first, otherwise they don’t work. You can clean them by letting them soak in salt water over night.

d) Incense, sage, and CDs.
I use a lot of sage (in a spray bottle because I have asthma clients) in the room I’m working in. Sage is great for cleaning a room of negative energy and so is Sandalwood incense. When I leave my room, I usually leave incense burning AND an “Om” CD playing. Om cleans the room (but it also gives you lots of energy so I usually like to be out of the room while its playing). If you buy and Om CD, you can just press play and leave. :-)

e) The Protective White Light of the Universe.
Ah, I can't even imagine my life without this light. I use it for EVERYTHING. LOL, as I was about to board a plane to Texas the other day (that had been delayed over 3 hours due to bad weather), the people getting off the plane I was about to get on were saying, "OMG! You have no idea what I just went through! The worst turbulence in the world! The plane dropped like 500 feet out of nowhere! The soda cans were flying everywhere!" so immediately I wrapped my plane in the protective white light of the Universe and of course I got zero turbulence. Prior to that, I realized I had left expensive liquids in my carry on and didn't want to lose them. I covered my carry on in the protective white light. They didn't notice my liquids. :-) And when I got on the plane and had everyone around me was coughing nonstop (and people were freaking out about the "swine flu"), of course I covered myself with the white light, and I don't even have a cough/could. :-)

Basically, you just envision a white light completely surrounding you (like the shape of a lipstick tube) and say, "I'm now surrounding myself with the protective white light of the Universe. No negative or lower energies can penetrate it or come near me." And like I said, this works for everything (so I might add to it, "no birds, ice, or turbulence, nor anything else negative can penetrate it and affect my plane"). Mosquitoes, negative people, negative energy, turbulence, etc. I even wrap myself in it when people around me are gossiping and I don't want to get hooked into their negativity (works wonderfully to keep you out of it if you catch it in time. Otherwise, you might get hooked in).

This white light really helps me in healing because it allows me to more comfortably be in close contact with all the sick people I'm healing, without ever becoming sick myself no matter how many times they cough on me. Though I do use affirmations like, "My body will NOT host or be a home to ANY negative bacteria or viruses" beforehand.

When I'm working with someone that needs emotional counseling and is emotionally unloading their problems on me, I often use a light pink light instead of the protective white light. You use it the exact same way except you envision a light pink light instead of a white one. I've heard people say that the white light sometimes makes you seem too cold and distant and that the pink light allows you to be more compassionate (while still protecting you from empathy). You don't want to take on the other person's emotions as your own. You want to remain strong and grounded which allows you to actually help them. I.e. "I understand how you feel. How can I serve you?" rather than sitting there crying with the person or allowing the energy of feeling miserable/helpless to penetrate you. Anyhow, thought I'd add the pink light afterthought for those who are often in interactions with family members and friends who unload their problems on them. When it's family and friends, I always go with the pink light rather than the white (unless it's a physical ailment).
