How To Forgive Others and Take Back Your Power

I've blogged about forgiving before, but it's been about a year and it's such an important topic... I recently wrote a more thorough article listing more free resources and so I'd like to share those resources with my blog readers:

Forgiving is crucial to happiness. Until you forgive someone, they retain control over your emotions, your life, and even your physical health. That's too much power to give anyone, particularly someone you don't like to begin with. Medical studies show the detrimental effects that anger and stress can have on your physical health, so any anger you are harboring affects YOU much more than it affects the person you are angry or resentful towards. This article will show you how to forgive in order to set yourself free from the past, and from the control of others. Following the steps below will help you forgive, even in the most difficult situations.

Steps for Forgiving:

1) Make a list of anyone you feel you need to forgive, or anyone you are holding anger or resentment towards- whether or not you feel ready to forgive them.

2) If there are people you believe are not worthy of your forgiveness or who did "unforgivable" things, realize that forgiving doesn't mean you now have to be best friends with that person or that you have to hang out with them. It just means you are letting go of the anger and making a choice to no longer be emotionally tied to that person and to take back the power they are currently holding over you. Remember you are doing yourself a favor rather than doing the other person a favor. When you are indifferent towards someone, they will no longer have power over you. When you intellectually understand forgiveness, it makes it easier to forgive on an emotional level. That's what this step is about.

3) Decide which person you would like to work on forgiving first. You should work on one person at a time. Set an intention to forgive the first person. For example, "I am willing to forgive _________ and I WILL forgive __________ and set myself free." You are now more than halfway there.

4) The internet has many free resources for those wishing to forgive. Visit The Work website and download the free "Judge Your Neighbor" Worksheet along with the "Instructions for Doing the Work" Worksheet. Follow the directions and genuinely do the exercises. The Work is very popular in the healing/counseling community for its effectiveness. Once on the site just scroll down to the "Downloads" section on the side. Link to the site: http://www.thework.com/resources.asp

5) Radical Forgiveness is another popular program that has free resources on its site for those working on forgiveness. This site has recently started requiring users to register in order to access their worksheets, but the registration only takes a minute and is fully worth the free resources you will then be able to access. Once you are logged in, click on "New Radical Forgiveness Worksheet" and then click on the "Open" link next to the worksheet. Honestly complete this worksheet, which is known to bring dramatic results. Link to the site: http://www.radicalforgiveness.com/contentnew/downloads.asp

6) Practice Meditation Twin Hearts (also known as the Planetary Meditation for Peace) regularly. This meditation helps you subconsciously forgive everyone you need to forgive, so it's a great tool for those that don't feel like they're quite ready to forgive. This is an easy tool because all you need to do is press play and relax. The meditation is under 30 minutes and brings the added benefits that meditation brings such as filling you with peace, increasing your emotional stability, and improving your physical health. You should aim to do it 3 times a week while working on forgiveness. Link to the free meditation: http://www.ppmaudiostream.org/planetarypeace.htm

7) Wear a Rose Quartz pendant, or a green crystal pendant if you are a man and wearing pink isn't your thing. The energy emitted by a Rose Quartz promotes compassion and forgiveness. Wearing a Rose Quartz over your heart can accelerate the speed of forgiveness and fill you with peaceful energy. Green crystals emit green energy, which disintegrates negative emotions, like anger. Here is the link to my crystal website and to the Rose Quartz in particular. Definitely feel free to contact me if you have any questions: http://powertreasuresonline.com/index.php/crystalpendants/rosequartz.html

8) Visualization. Visualize the person you are forgiving directly in front of you. Look them in the eye and say, "We all make mistakes and we're all growing. You did the best you could with where you were at personally in your life. I now forgive you and set myself free." Visualize a cord going from their solar plexus (soft spot between your ribs) to yours. Karate chop it 3 times with conviction while saying "Cut, cut, cut!" Then say, "You are now released and no longer have any power over me or my happiness." This is a variation of a Pranic Healing technique.

9) Before the speech in step 8, if you feel there is stuff you really need to get off your chest, then say it to them while you are visualizing them before you. Then proceed, to the rest of the instructions in step 8.

10) Once you have forgiven the person, check them off, and move on to the next person on your list and start again. The more you forgive, the easier it becomes.

You will know you have fully forgiven someone when you are genuinely indifferent toward them. You may find forgiveness before reaching the 10th step. Every experience and every person is different. This is meant to be a comprehensive list. Explore these techniques and find which one works best for you. And at all times remember to be patient with yourself. Forgiving can be a challenging process. Just focus on progress and you will eventually reach your goal and take back your power.

MY MIRACLE SOLUTION FOR STRESS- And Just About Everything Else

Medical studies show that stress can kill you. I’m a lawyer by trade. I attended one of the most, if not the most, competitive law schools in the world. I've worked at a corporate law firm that represents the big entertainment corporations. I know stress quite well.

Awhile back I realized I had a gift for healing people through energy. That realization sent me on an extensive exploration of the often obscure world of energy healing. I spent months exploring different healing modalities, enrolled in class after class, and read every book I could get my hands on.

I’d now like to report back the best stress relieving tool I've come across while exploring the different secrets of many schools. Salt-water and coffee baths. Ta Da! Please hold any judgment until you try it. It’s the kind of thing that once you try it, you’re sold. I have not had one client who hasn’t loved it or who hasn’t continued to use these baths as part of their personal routine. I personally use them twice a week.

However, salt water/coffee baths are more than just my best stress relief tool, they’re more like my miracle “cure all." Like Robitussin or Ginger Ale for some moms (or maybe "Vivaporu" if you’re Latino). Salt water/coffee baths are effective for just about everything.

If I had a prescription pad, I would “prescribe” salt-water/coffee baths in the same manner campus clinics dispense antibiotics. You had a stressful day in court- salt water/coffee bath. If you're mad at your husband and want to argue with him- take a salt water/coffee bath first before you argue. It saves a lot of drama. If you just had an argument where someone unloaded all kinds of emotional garbage and negative energy on you- salt water/coffee bath. Depression, cramps, anger, worries, trauma- salt water/coffee baths. And they are absolutely amazing for physical ailments as well. I’ve seen miraculous healings from sports injuries, hot flashes, cysts, and even swine flu. They are particularly wonderful for anyone dealing with arthritis since it tends to pull the pain right out. My grandmother found them so effective, she is currently trying to negotiate with her landlord to see if he would be willing to install a bathtub in her current “shower-only” bathroom.

Why do they work so well?

I ran into this miracle solution in Pranic Healing, an ancient Chinese energy medicine modality. We were told about these baths as a way to clear out negative energy from our body- the negative energy our own body produces in the form of negative emotions and illnesses, and the negative energy we absorb (or have thrust upon us) from others. As healers, we often absorb the negative energy of others and negative energy eventually leads to disease. Salt disintegrates negative energy and water absorbs it, hence why the ocean is such a great healer. Coffee has orange prana (i.e. orange energy) and orange energy expels negative energy out of your body. Thus the combination of salt water and coffee culminates in the negative energy in your body being disintegrated, expelled, and absorbed by the salt water. Negative emotions, including stress, are basically negative energy. So while soaking in this bath your stress energy is literally being extracted from your body. Pain and things like cysts are also comprised of negative energy, which explains why salt water baths are also so effective for physical ailments. Plus negative energy left unchecked in your body for long periods can turn into serious physical ailments, so as the negative energy (the source of the illness) is extracted, you also experience the relief of physical symptoms.

Sure as a healer I have many different tricks in my bag to relieve stress. I can always do an energy healing session on myself and pull stress right out. But at the end of a long day, a salt water bath is the easiest option. Also, it’s a trick anyone can employ effectively without being a healer.

So how do you try one of these baths?

You dump in about 26 ounces of salt (a full container)into warm water. Just regular table salt or sea salt will do. Epsom salt is not recommended because it has different properties. After pouring the salt, drop in a 2-3 individual packets of instant coffee. Folgers makes them. The kind that look like tea bags. Then you just soak for 20 minutes. Do not stay in the bath longer than 20 minutes because the bath is so strong that after 20 minutes it starts removing some of your positive energy as well. After 20 minutes, proceed to take your regular shower.

That’s all. Nothing spectacular about the process, only the results. The first time I tried it I was expecting a mess, but there was none.

If you would like to make your baths even more effective, you can set an intention beforehand stating that you intend to release any negative energy, stress energy, and negative emotions in your body into the salt water bath. You can also visualize the energy leaving your body if you like or you can just lay there and let the salt, water, and coffee do their thing.

These baths are by no means a secret. Master Stephen Co openly speaks of them in his Pranic Healing courses and most Pranic Healers recommend these baths. However, much of the general public hasn’t heard of or tried this wonderful tool/remedy and that’s a shame. These baths not only improve your mental and emotional health, but they can add years to your life. They also do wonders for your skin since we all know how much stress ages us.

As people’s stress level continues to rise, and as a result more people become seriously ill, stress reduction techniques are becoming more important. I wanted to do my part to spread one of the most valuable techniques in my toolbox.

*Please note that these baths are not intended to replace conventional medicine, but rather complement it. Individuals with serious physical or psychological conditions should consult licensed health care professionals. If any discomfort or adverse effect is experienced during the bath, you are advised to stop the bath immediately and consult a doctor (had to add this because I had one client make the water too hot and stay in there too long, which led to blood pressure dropping and the person almost fainting).

CRYSTALS KEEP DEPRESSION AWAY - Medical Research on Crystals and Depression

Crystals can keep depression away. That’s no secret to those of us who use crystals every day, but it’s always nice to have medical studies support our experiences. And so I wanted to share.

A study by world-renown doctor, Dr. Norman Shealy (info below), shows that the use of crystals can have a huge impact on keeping depression away. Dr. Shealy conducted a wonderful study where he gave Quartz crystals to depression patients who had improved using his program. He gave the patients in the control group a piece of glass instead of a quartz crystal. The study was double-blind so the patients did not know they were receiving glass instead of a Quartz crystal and the nurses distributing the crystals also did not know they were handing out glass to patients. All patients were asked to wear their “crystals” around their neck for three months. Three months later, with no further treatment (not even anti-depressants), 70% of the patients who received the Quartz crystal remained out of depression. In stark contrast, only 26% of the patients who received glass remained out of depression.

This study shows what a wonderful tool crystals are for increasing emotional health. Crystals can bring emotional stability and increase happiness, while absorbing the negative energy and negative emotions in your system. This results in greater emotional balance and an increase in overall well-being.

The journal article on the study above is not free online, but here is a link to a page where the study is briefly documented:

Use the Power of Crystals to Amplify Your Power

Hello!

I just wanted to let you all know that my new crystal website is up and running!! The address is: www.powertreasuresonline.com

On the website you can read about different crystals and their benefits. You can also browse benefits to see what crystals fall under the benefit you are looking for. You can also read about the use of crystals throughout history and about how crystals work.

The point of the website was to make some of my energy healing services more accessible. So on the website you can purchase beautiful, crystal pendants that I energetically cleanse, consecrate, charge, and custom-program for you. Every pendant comes with a little note stating what it was programmed to do.

This idea came to me during meditation way back in May, so I'm excited to finally have it up and running! This is a service I usually provide as part of my life coaching package, so I'm excited to have the opportunity to offer it to more people and to also spread knowledge about crystals and how they can help you reach your goals and improve the quality of your life. Everyone who knows me, knows that I don't go ANYWHERE without a crystal pendant on. So you know how I feel about them.

Anyhow, I hope you will enjoy the website and spread the word. If you have anything you would like to see on this site in the future, please let me know. It's going to be an ongoing project and I hope to add more information to it in the months ahead.

Emotional Moment From My Journal and Cool Info on the Power of Crystals

This post is a blog from my journal and doesn't really follow the "DIY/Tips" style of my blog. I had originally posted it on a private page, but I've decided to go ahead and post it here because it does have some cool info on crystals and on my own process.

Journal Entry:

Hmm… I just had a weird emotional moment while doing research (and I promise I’m not a cryer. If you know me, you KNOW that. Which is what made this so strange)... It came with a feeling of, “Wow, everything is always connected.”

I’ve been doing a lot of research, trying to gather content for a website for my new business. It’s crystal-related (in case you didn’t know). LOL, the research has been burdensome because I REALLY love crystals and I tend to go on 4-hour-long UNNECESSARY research tangents. I really don’t need that much info for my website. It’s just that while I'm blessed to know how to use crystals effectively and about their properties, I’d never sat down to just research their role in history.

So I’ve been having fun throughout the week discovering how just about every civilization throughout history has used the power of crystals and how they’re present in just about every religion. And even though I DEFINITELY do not need to list or explore the 200+ times that crystals are mentioned in the Bible, for some reason I’m drawn to reading it all. *shrugs* I don’t need to document St. Hildegard’s two medical treatises covering crystals or Cleopatra, Alexander the Great, the Incas, the Sumerians, Olympic athletes, or any of that, but I’ve been going on 4-hour-long tangents for each of the above…

Anyhow the history research has been really fun (because I’m an esoteric studies nerd), but today I was researching the science stuff. BLAH!!! When the word “crystal” starts turning into “crystalline,” I start to get a little sleepy. Reading about Cleopatra using her amethyst ring to seduce Julius Caesar and Mark Antony amuses me so much more. :-)

During the research, of course I ran into Marcel Vogel’s name (he was a famous scientist who produced some of the most powerful crystal healing tools available).

I read a quote from Marcel Vogel that I wanted to work with, but since I like to quadruple check every bit of info I use, that led to reading all kinds of scientific experiments by Marcel. They were cool but a bit technical.

This is the passage that led me on that trail:

"According to crystal researcher Marcel Vogel, a senior scientist with IBM for 27 years: The crystal is a neutral object whose inner structure exhibits a state of perfection and balance. When it’s cut to the proper form and when the human mind enters into relationship with its structural perfection, the crystals emit a vibration which extends and amplifies the powers of the user’s mind. Like a laser, it radiates energy in a coherent, highly concentrated form, and this energy may be transmitted into objects or people at will.

Its higher purpose…is in the service of humanity for the removal of pain and suffering. With proper training, a healer can release negative thought forms which have taken shape as disease patterns in a patient’s physical body."

Anyhow, I was getting a little fidgety reading through my trail of science papers, when suddenly I just started feeling a weird, inexplicable connection to Marcel Vogel.

Then I ran into his eulogy. And randomly started crying while reading it. But not until I saw the last part because that’s when the “It’s all tied together” feeling overwhelmed me.

Here it is-

Eulogy for Marcel presented by Dr. Bernard McGinity at Marcel’s funeral on Valentine’s Day, 1991, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, in San Jose, California:

"Those of us who are scientists or physicians and who worked with Marcel Vogel were well aware of his scientific achievements: his extraordinary work with phosphors, bioluminescence, luminescent paints and the design of magnetic disc coatings in computers. He was one of the most prolific scientists in IBM history with over 100 patents in his name. Yet, until his recent honorary Ph.D., he possessed no official university degree. He made his mark because of the brilliance of his mind, his prolific ideas, and his seemingly limitless creativity.

But it is not his scientific work that I want to talk about. For it is for his work with Spirit, his great spiritual strength, his wonderful capacity to love that I will always remember Marcel.

I was one of a group of 16 physicians privileged to work with him over a number of years with body energies, especially the capacity to focus healing energies with crystals in the treatment of illness. All of us had an extensive background in acupuncture and appreciated the ability to manipulate body energies.

Under Marcel’s guidance, some of us began to learn the process of transmitting thought, especially loving thoughts, unconditionally, to our patients. It brought us an even greater capacity to appreciate the power of the mind to influence illness, the power both to heal and exacerbate disease. And, most important all, to appreciate the incredible presence of unconditional love and it’s capacity to trigger transformative shifts in a patient’s psyche.

Marcel served for me as a spiritual mentor. He was a truly devout, yet iconoclast Catholic with a passionate love for Christ, and whose devotion was part of his very breathing. Yet he embraced with a deep understanding the teaching the Eastern religions with an especial love and admiration for the Lord Buddha.

He possessed the ability to see beyond the confines and formal structure of church teaching to appreciate the underlying principles in all devout religions. Marcel would have been just as comfortable in a Tibetan monastery as he was in this Church. And just as comfortable and compatible in the presence of the Dalai Lama as he would in the presence of the Pope.

Marcel emphasized the power of meditation to heal and guide our lives. I would like to invite you to join with me now in a meditation prayer to, for and with Marcel.

Please sit comfortably in your chairs, take some deep breaths and in a true ecumenical spirit rest with your palms turned upward and the tips of your thumb and forefinger joined together.

First of all visualize Marcel.
See him clearly; that big teddy bear of a man with his great capacity to love.
Ask yourself, what lessons did he teach you?
How did he serve as an example to you?
In what way did he influence your life?
Now send Marcel your true appreciation of what he did for you and what he meant to you.

It is said that all great teachers pass on their energy, their knowledge, and their wisdom. Ask Marcel to pass on to you whatever energy, knowledge or wisdom you need from him.

Finally, let us all join together in sending him a wave of love. Thank him for being part of our lives. And send him on to his highest spiritual evolution with our blessings and with all our love.

I would like to close with a prayer of St. Francis of Assisi –
a prayer that embodies the essential purpose of Marcel Vogel’s life.

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy Peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, Faith;
Where there is despair, Hope;
Where there is darkness, Light;
Where there is sadness, Joy.
Lord, grant that I may not seek to be consoled
as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life."

That’s when I started crying. Because in Pranic Healing that prayer is part of the meditation we’re taught to meditate on every day. And it’s the meditation that my Spiritual Teacher asks us to use. It’s central to our teachings, so for some reason it made me emotional that they used that prayer to sum up the essential purpose of Marcel's life, AFTER I had started feeling a strange connection to him.

It's also the prayer that hangs over my desk on a beautiful tablet, which I bought at the Vatican, many years ago- before I had even heard of Pranic Healing (I'm starting to wonder if it's every healer's prayer..)......

So as I’m taking a “Wow” gasp and wondering “Wait, why do I have tears going down my cheeks? WTH??” I click on a “random” link to a crystal.

And see this:

"The Lifestream Vogel-cut® Prana Crystal was originally created as a special order for Master Choa Kok Sui, well known healer and Master of Pranic Healing.

As is our practice in the process of working with a new crystal form, I sent one of the Prana crystals to friend Melissa Applegate for her impressions. Melissa is a gifted intuitive and has done frequent consulting work for Marcel Vogel. This was Melissa’s first impression of the Vogel-cut® Prana crystal without any background information regarding its origins and the connection to Master Choa.

“The impression I had was of a master of some kind. I had the impression of an oriental Master of some kind, very much into the Buddhist tradition, very much working with healing modalities with this crystal.

"I got specifically that he had Marcel’s permission to put specific programming into the crystal and that whatever crystal you cut will have this generic program within it and that Marcel had agreed. It was like his consciousness or someone he is working with, who is also a Buddhist Master, that consciousness was so personal and so interactive. It was mind-boggling to me.”

Master Choa Kok Sui is my Spiritual Teacher. And I’m a Pranic Healer. The connection was revealed. Master Choa is someone who I share the type of connection with that you can’t put into words or explain. It’s a heart thing. Of course I released another, “Wow,” in amazement of how everything in my life always seems to be tied together. And how I always start to feel connections in my heart before I even know where they’re from…. Which is a relatively new gift for me….

That night I definitely followed the meditation directions in the eulogy and asked Marcel to pass on to me whatever energy, knowledge, or wisdom I needed from him. And ever since that night, I've been even more excited and feeling like Marcel is guiding me in this new business. Which is GREAT for confidence. :-D

Tips For Dealing With the Swine Flu Scare

A lot of the kids in my area have Swine Flu. Calming down the parents has been half the battle. Panic is never helpful so I wanted to take a few minutes to post a blog on the topic.

Before I begin, please note that nothing below is meant to replace medical care. Only to complement it and to prevent illness in the first place. So DEFINITELY go see a doctor if you think you have Swine Flu and follow your doctor's instructions!

Now that the lawyer in me got that out of the way, here are some tips:

FIRST OF ALL, RELAX!

If your child has Swine Flu and is having difficulty breathing, if you want your child to breathe fine again, getting panicky and scaring your child is one of the worst things you can do! Chances are your child is already pretty scared, so don't make it worse.

The more relaxed and calm your child remains (or hey this applies if you have Swine Flu yourself), the faster his body can heal. Don't forget your body is made to heal itself. When you purchase over the counter medicines for colds and flus, those medicines aren't to heal your cold/flu, but to suppress the symptoms until your body is able to fight off the disease. Similarly when you break your arm, your doctor puts it in a cast to get YOU out of your own way so that your arm can heal itself (i.e. so that you don't move it around and interfere with the healing process). So the point is to get out of your own way so that your body can heal itself. That means you have to get your fear and stress out of the way. The calmer you are, the better. Please don't manifest worst case scenarios and craziness with your mind.

Here is an article on how stress kills ("If you're worried about your health, stop. You're only making it worse.") : http://www.livescience.com/health/080115-stress-kills.html

ALSO, DON'T FORGET MIND OVER MATTER.
Take back your power and declare that your body will NOT host any bacteria or virus. That you won't accept it in your body. The power of belief/your mind is incredible. I haven't even coughed in over a year. And I used to get sick with a flu/cold 2-3 times a year.

AND HERE ARE SOME PRANIC HEALING-BASED TIPS FOR PREVENTION AND HEALING. Pranic Healers received some of these along with an energy healing protocol back when Swine Flu first came out back in May:

1)You can take Bee Propolis (as long as you arent allergic to bees). This helps clear out negative and diseased energy. Also you can take Royal Jelly, which gives your body more energy to heal itself and puts shield around, i.e. strengthens your ability to keep diseases out(again make sure u arent allergic to bees). The Royal Jelly isn't part of the protocol I received, but we're recommended to use it every day for overall health. Note, I'm not an herbalist, I heal people w/my hands, not supplements. These are just recommendations that were made to me and that I personally follow and find effective. Any supplements you choose to take, you do so completely at your own risk (lol, sorry the lawyer in me again).

2) Tea Tree Oil and Eucalyptus Oil. Put 3-5 drops of Tea Tree and 3-5 drops of eucalyptus oil in a small container with hot water. Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth, 7-12 times per session. Repeat this protocol 3-4 times a day during 2 weeks or more. Do no exhale in the container. The abundant green prana of the Tea Tree oil has a disinfectant effect. The eucalyptus oil also has a disinfectant as well as anti-bacterial effect. These are use as antibiotic against fungus, viral and bacterial infections. Eucalyptus oil contains orange prana that helps to expel the diseased energy.

3) Salt water bath w/eucalyptus oil. Fill up your bathtub, dump in a FULL container of salt (all 26 oz) and add 10-15 drops of Eucalyptus oil. Soak for about 20 minutes, then shower as usual. Do this a few times a week if u think u have it or are coming down with something. This pulls the negative energy out of your body.

4) You can also drink lots of green tea and acai. Two of my favorite antioxidants that are wonderful for flushing out negative and diseased energy. :-)

And of course use all the other common sense recommendations like washing your hands often, getting enough sleep, eating a healthy diet, getting exercise, etc.

Hope these help!

Strategy for Maintaining Control of Your Life and Not Spiraling Into Negativity

Hello! First I'd like to apologize for my lack of blogs lately. Most of my writing time has been going toward working on my first book, so I've been somewhat neglecting this blog. I definitely want to continue posting here though (it's part of my tithing!) and so I thought I'd post one of the strategies/instructions I was just drafting for the "How To Use This Book" section of the book I'm writing. It's applicable to maintaining control of your life, reaching your goals, and not falling into destructive habits. This technique is meant to keep you from slipping. BTW, this presupposes that you're working towards goals. And pretty much everyone is, even if that goal is just to be happy (the most important of all in my opinion). So here we go.

Take Inventory Once a Week

......Since taking and maintaining control of your life can be a little tricky at times, I suggest you use the “Taking Inventory Once a Week” technique that I personally use in my life and encourage all my clients to use as well.

Once a week you will sit down and take inventory of your life. You will write down what is working for you and what is NOT working for you. It doesn't have to be some long ceremonial thing or process, but you do have to honestly reflect on your week and life in general. It’s just like a brief check-in. A once a week life inventory to see how things are going for you. To troubleshoot problems or potential problems and realize what changes you need to make NOW. This system helps you stay on track and therefore helps you stay in control.

It’s easy to slack off a couple days and start going in a different direction. Usually a spiraling downward direction. So checking in once a week helps catch self-limiting or self-sabotaging behavior before it becomes a problem. For example, if you start engaging in destructive behavior, wallowing in negative thoughts/emotions/self-pity, or start throwing your time away, you will catch it within a week’s period and do something about it. This way you never allow the feelings of things like throwing your day away or the guilt, disappointment, and powerlessness that come with doing such things to overwhelm you and sink you into its’ dark holes. You will catch what’s not working BEFORE it spirals out of control.

So once a week sit down and take inventory. Write down what’s working for you, what’s not working for you, what needs to be changed, and what you will no longer accept in your life. Resolve to change what’s not working and write down a step by step action plan for changing it. Then implement your plan immediately. Every time you do this, you’re taking back control of your life instead of allowing yourself to feel helpless. It checks trends before they grow and turn into habits. Or alternatively catches old negative habits that you need to eliminate.

For example, let’s say your physical health is deteriorating. You’ve gained five pounds and your muscles feel weak. Feeling out of shape is causing negative feelings in you. You’ve been meaning to go to the gym but you haven’t gone in a few weeks. During your life inventory, you sit down and write that gaining weight and leading a sedentary life is not working for you. You resolve to change it. Then you write down your action plan for this week. For example: "I will take a 30 minute walk during my lunch time every day and I will join a weekly yoga class this week." You don't have to go crazy with it and get carried away because you'll have another check in the following week and you'll be able to adjust accordingly and add more stuff if needed.

See how it helps troubleshoot before little things turn into big problems?

And it’s very important while using this book because it will help you catch yourself if you start to backslide or aren’t keeping up with your exercises. For example, during your weekly inventory you might realize that you are holding a lot of anger toward someone and it’s affecting your mood and emotions. You realize that holding that anger is not working for you and you remember from Chapter ___ that you aren’t supposed to be holding on to anger anymore (in fact it's supposed to be one of your goals). And so you resolve to let go of that anger before it keeps growing and starts having a larger effect on your life. It’s crucial to catch things before they spiral out of control. So please make it a goal to check in once a week.

Make it part of your routine. Do it religiously. Consistency matters with this one.

That's the section I have on that because I have a limited amount of space in that chapter of my book. But since this is my unlimited blog, I'll add a few more examples in case you all want them. :-)

More examples:

-Another example, let’s say you find that lately you’ve just been exhausted at work and that it’s related to a certain someone calling you late at night. You decide the rewards those late night conversations are bringing you aren't worth the exhaustion at work. So you determine that this is just not working for you anymore and you sit down and write down your plan for changing the situation. I.e. "From now on I will no longer take his late night calls or I will limit our calls to one hour."

-Or let’s say one of your goals is to finish a poem, book, painting, song, project. But you only worked on it two hours this week. You wonder where your free time went and you realize that most of it was spent online playing on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, etc. You decide that throwing your time away online is not working for you. Then you write down what actions you’re going to take in response. I.e. Limit your online time to two 30 minute sessions a day. And remember to implement it immediately. **Procrastination is one of the most popular self-sabotage strategies out there. Always be on the look out for it and be sure to check it immediately. Tends to rise from subconscious feelings of unworthiness (in case you were wondering).**

-Or you realize that you've been feeling a little down and gloomy this week. And you are pretty sure it's because you are lacking fun in your life. And working all the time is not working for you. So you sit down and write down a plan for adding fun to your life. I.e. Two days a week I will do something I consider fun. I will start by going to the beach this Saturday and going to play laser tag Wednesday after work (I don’t know, but you get the idea).

-Or you realize that you spent a lot of time in the middle of gossip this week and that's just not conducive to the positive lifestyle you are trying to lead. You can't be all up in the middle of negativity expecting to attract positive things into your life. So you decide that friend's gossiping about other people in front of you is not working for you. And you write down your action plan for no longer having to sit through gossip.

-Or you sit down and realize you have a lot of money stress. And decide that financial uncertainty is just not working for you. So you sit down and write down what actions you are going to take to get rid of financial uncertainty.

-Disorganization and clutter are also popular ones. You realize the mess on your desk needs to go but you've been putting off cleaning it for a couple of months. So you sit down and allot time for cleaning and organizing. Schedule it in. Do it.

LOL, alright I think that's enough examples.

Have fun taking back your power and maintaining it! Most people have no idea just how much power they have. Make sure you are tapping into that power.

Love,
J

UCI Studies on the Miracle of Pranic Healing, a free Pranic Healing Class, and Free Healings

I wanted to share some info on one of my favorite energy healing modalities, Pranic Healing (PH). It's one of my favorites because I've seen sooo many miracles through it, it usually starts working instantly (after about 5-10 minutes of Pranic Healing whatever physical pain the person is experiencing tends to go away), and it's easy to teach people how to apply the techniques and clean their own chakras when I'm not around. The techniques that I shared in my "Do It Yourself- Energy Healing" blog all came from Pranic Healing.

To start with, I'd like to share a CBS news clip on Pranic Healing that gives a good overview of PH and shows some of the every day Pranic miracles:

As the video shows, there are some hospitals in the California area training doctors and nurses in Pranic Healing. We have medical doctors who actually want to learn Pranic Healing attending the classes (in fact I believe there were at least 5 medical doctors in our classes last weekend. Woo hoo for doctors seeking holistic approaches and solutions!). LOL, and during a healing at a hospital I’ve definitely had a nurse pull me aside and ask me to do a Pranic session on her for back pain.:-)

Next I'd like to share these wonderful clips on the EXTENSIVE RESEARCH DONE ON PRANIC HEALING AT UCI that shows "Unheard of changes in cell survival rates" of cells treated with Pranic Healing (survival rate of cells that were blasted with radiation went from 50% to 98% after being treated by a group of healers). The video is actually pretty funny even though it starts out a little dry:

It's so wonderful that science is starting to validate what we already know and experience every day! :-D LOL, and can you just imagine the look on the researchers' faces when my colleagues told them that their labs had dirty energy and needed to be cleansed??

The second part of the video goes into how there is no difference between distance healings (which I do a lot of) and in-person healings, it includes VERY INTERESTING studies on KARMA, and also talks about how ANYONE can learn the Basic Pranic Healing techniques and see results regardless of their experience level. You don't have to have the ability to see or even feel energy to successfully apply Pranic Healing techniques. You can easily get rid of your own (and other people's) headaches, stress, pain, anger, etc. by just cleaning the energy field with the steps you learn in class:

And with that being said, I wanted to share a link to a FREE Intro to Pranic Healing class being taught in LA next week by one of my favorite spiritual teachers, Master Co:

https://www.yourhandscanhealyou.com/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=57

If you have some time on the 5th, feel free to go check out the intro class. Pranic Healing can be really life changing. I haven't even experienced a cold or a cough since I started (used to get cold/flu about twice a year), I'm at my ideal weight w/o even trying, and things like stress are a thing of the past. And trust me, being able to clean your solar plexus chakra anytime you are experiencing a negative emotion is pretty priceless. Aside from the benefits I've personally gained, I am constantly being called on to help others and get to enjoy the beautiful feeling of genuinely improving the lives of others.

Through Pranic Healing I've personally experienced the wonderful feeling of cancer clients going into remission, lumps and tumors disappearing, clients no longer needing depression medication after ONE healing session though they were on it for years, long-standing arthritis pain completely disappearing after one session, being able to lower people's blood pressure instantly during scary situations... The list goes on and on. And that's just some of MY client roster. I've seen Master Co make someone in a wheelchair walk again(in one session). And this is all by using techniques that can be learned by anyone. The founder, Master Choa was an engineer and my teacher, Master Co was also an engineer before becoming a healer, so everything is broken down carefully, step by step, in a linear manner.

Our spiritual teacher, the founder of Modern Pranic Healing, Master Choa Kok Sui, had a goal of there being at least one Pranic Healer in every household and when he passed one of his main instructions was to, "Spread the teachings!!!" In gratitude for his teachings and the miracles we are able to experience through them, we try to do our best. And so there is the free Pranic Healing class this week and there are even free Pranic Healing clinics for those who can't afford energy healing sessions (http://www.pranichealing.com/).

Hope you all enjoyed the information and have the opportunity to experience and to learn Pranic Healing!

Sending you all tons of love and light!

Your Personal Book of Success- A Powerful Practice

I sat down and asked God/the Universe what lesson He’d like for me to share today and the response was, “The lesson of not all of a sudden forgetting how far you have come when you find yourself in a down moment or a down cycle.”

When you are going through a down moment, a fearful moment, a moment of doubt or even a melancholy moment, how easy is it to forget your previous triumphs and successes? Like the one from last week?? Or even the one from this morning? How quickly we forget sometimes…… Sometimes one thing goes wrong and suddenly you forget about everything that had just gone right and how well things are going and how much progress you’ve made in the last year….six months….week….

This is why I wanted to share this extremely useful exercise with you all in hopes that some of you will incorporate it into your daily lives and that it becomes a life-long powerful practice for you.

Exercise: Creating Your Own Private Book of Successes

1. Go buy an interesting notebook that appeals to you.

2. On the front cover write in big, bold letters, “MY BOOK OF SUCCESS.” Yes, you can write it on the inside cover if you are worried others might see it.

3. Every time you have a triumph or success write it down in this notebook along with the time and date. EVERY TIME! EVERY TIME the Universe comes through for you, write it down. Doesn’t matter how small or how big as long as it feels like a triumph to you.

4. You don’t have to write much more than the event, time, and date. It doesn’t matter if you only write one line. This is a BOOK OF RECORDS, not a book of stories. Of course you’re welcomed to write out as much as you like, but you’re more likely to stick to making this exercise part of your routine and to actually doing it for years if you keep it short and simple.

5. DEFINITELY write down any situation where you aren’t sure something is going to go your way and then it DOES go your way (ex. “I was able to pay my phone bill even though I wasn’t sure how that was going to happen”). Write down anytime something ISN’T supposed to go your way and then it DOES go your way. Write down anytime you aren’t sure you can do something and then you do it. Write down anytime you REALLY want something and then it comes to you/you get it. Write down any “miracles” you experience. Basically, as I said above, write down any time the Universe comes through for you or that YOU come through for you.

6. Every time you are experiencing a negative moment or are in a down cycle, pull out your notebook and read through it. Hey, you might see something from THIS MORNING that you already forgot about as other people’s clouds of gloom surrounded you and drowned you throughout the day! Anytime you start feeling self-doubt, fear, lack of confidence, not enoughness, anything like that, pull out your "Book of Success" and look at how many times the Universe has come through for you! This is a great way to not only get the big picture, gain confidence, lift your mood, and keep you moving forward, but it’s also a great exercise for building trust. Trust in the Universe/God and trust in yourself. It also helps shift you into more positive expectations.

7. Range of Successes:
This is a personal book and you can go with whatever feels right for you. You might prefer to stick solely to “bigger” successes like:

“I finally got over so and so.”
“I received clarity as to this and this situation.”
“I got into med school.”
“I was chosen for this high-paying job out of hundreds of applicants.”
“I lost those 50 lbs.”
“I beat cancer.”
“I survived that car accident.”
“I graduated from college.”
"I found a husband I love."
“I got to travel to ______”
“I didn’t lose my temper when so and so happened as I normally do.”
“I finally forgave so and so."

On top of these being triumphs to remind you of how far you've come and how many things HAVE gone your way, how great will it be to see sentences like the ones above the next time you think you'll never be able to get over the new so and so? Or the next time you are experiencing confusion and praying for clarity? Some of your recorded triumphs will serve as a quick jolt reminder to your brain that, "Oh, I've done this before. And everything worked out just fine. I can do it again."

It’s also fun and useful to include the “smaller” triumphs in life. The little things that are supposed to make you feel good and do make you feel good until you later go on and forget about them. Keeping records of these things will help remind you later on.

Things like:

“I won this raffle.” (Hey, when you're feeling unlucky, it will remind you that you HAVE been lucky!)
“Three people in a row told me I looked beautiful this morning.”
“I got the afternoon off and did exactly what I wanted with it.”
“My co-worker bought me lunch today.”
“I received this really sweet e-mail saying _____.”
“I found the perfect shoes.”
“My mom told me she loved me this morning.”

Go with whatever feels right for you. And trust me, even if you decide to only record the “bigger” successes, you’ll fill up your book and need a new one faster than you think!

8. To “soup up” this exercise, you can also add a sentence expressing gratitude with every success you record. This way you are also embedding your gratitude practice into this exercise.

9. When you get your notebook, definitely fill it in with older events that happened before you had your notebook. It’s okay if you don’t remember the exact date. If it’s a success, it should be in your Book of Success. Anytime an old success comes to mind, write it down. Become an excellent record-keeper and historian of your own successes!

10. START TODAY. KEEP IT FOREVER.

Sending you all lots of love and light!

How to be Present NOW In Order to Manifest Your Goals in the Future

Last night I enjoyed one of Rev. Michael Beckwith’s amazing services at Agape. His services are always amazing, but last night was really over the top. And the main topic of the sermon was to “LIVE OVER THE TOP ALL THE TIME.” He listed geniuses and talked about how they lived over the top and encouraged us all to do so as well. Because when you’re living “over the top” you’re giving God room to flow through you and express himself through you. He closed the sermon by repeating over and over, “That genius is inside of you,” (or something close to that) until it became a tearful whisper that I guarantee brought goose bumps to at least half the people sitting inside the Sanctuary. That genius that was within every great person in history is also within you… You just have to let it out.

So how do you live over the top? By being present every moment of your life. By fully living every moment of your life and enjoying each and every second. Don’t throw away the precious minutes of your life. Live them so that greatness can come forth through them.

A lot of people get lost in their future goals and future manifestations and forget to just live and enjoy the current the moment. However, actually ENJOYING your life where you are at RIGHT NOW will help you reach your future goals and manifestations at a much faster rate. If you believe in the Law of Attraction, you know that you will attract what you are feeling and doing. The key is to live your life now as if you already have what you want. As if it were already so. Stop putting off your good!

Exercise to help you live your life NOW instead of in the future:

1) Think about what you have been working hard to manifest and write it down on a piece of paper.
That one thing that gets you thinking, “Once I get that, THEN everything will be great. Life will be wonderful AFTER that.” THAT thing. Whether it’s your perfect dream relationship, dream job, millions of dollars, the perfect weight, whatever it is for you, write it down. For the example, I’ll use the popular desire of winning millions of dollars in the lotto.

2) Next, list the reasons WHY you want to manifest this thing/situation. Why do you REALLY want it? Try to get down to the core essence of why it is your soul wants this.

For example, I want to win millions of dollars in the lotto so that I can:
a) Help out a lot of people and give to a lot to people.
b) Have more freedom.
c) Be able to take all the classes I want and pursue more/new hobbies.
d) Help my mom out and buy her things to show how much I appreciate all that she’s done for me.
e) Pamper myself with fun treats.

3) Now brainstorm and write down the ways you could do these things in your life RIGHT NOW. And DO THEM. RIGHT NOW!

It’s so funny how we say we want something in order to do something, but we don’t do that thing while we’re waiting! You want to have lots of money to help lots of people and so you’re waiting to have that money to help people instead of just helping them NOW. You don’t need a million dollars to help someone. Help someone every day any little way you can. Give whatever you are able to- doesn’t just have to be money, can be skills, help, comfort, advice….. That way your soul is now doing what it’s been wanting to do. You’re experiencing what you’ve been wanting to experience and so now you’ll be attracting a lot more of that experience (law of attraction). Plus if it’s what you really want to do you’ll be living in joy and be fully present while you’re doing it. The Universe will start sending you more opportunities to do what you like and to be happy/joyful.

To finish up the example:

a) Help out a lot of people/give to a lot of people.
What can I do now?
1) I can sign up to volunteer my skills once a week after work.
2) I can clean out my closet and donate what I don’t need.
3) I can give advice online, I can teach someone a new skill, whatever. Let’s say you want to open up your own healing center for low income people, well start doing 2 free healings a week w/o the center. Stuff like that.

b) Have more freedom.
What can I do now?
1) When you have free moments throughout your day, before just surfing online to fill dead time or turning on your TV, sit down and think about what you REALLY want to do. And do it. Use those free moments of your day to do what you really want.

2) When planning your weekend, sit down and think about what you REALLY want to do. And do it. How many people sleep walk through weekends? Going to dinner, going to a club, watching tv. No, do what you REALLY want to do. You do have freedom throughout your week, USE IT. Don’t just throw away your free time and expect the Universe to just hand you more of it!! Make sure that you are using every minute of freedom you currently have. You want to win the lotto so you can quit your job and sit at the beach all day? Well then on your day off, go to the beach and sit!

** As Rev. Michael says, “Boredom is the energy it takes to block creativity!” and “Boredom is the ego’s attempt to steal the creative impulse that wants to happen through you in that moment.”

c) Take all the classes/hobbies I’d like.
1) Take a short class in whatever subject you’ve been interested in exploring. Or check out an online course/video (eHow is lovely).
2)Fully put your all into whatever classes/hobbies you’re currently taking. Be fully present every second you are doing your coursework and are in class.

Hehe, I do this: I'll be like “I really want to take that $6,000 course!!” while not putting as much time/effort as I COULD be putting into the courses I’m ALREADY taking. :-) So the Universe is probably like, “Really? You want to take more courses? Doesn’t look like it…” Starting today I’m done with that though! I’m going to be fully present every second that I’m doing my reading, homework, practicing, attending class. Next week I'm putting my all into my 3 hour Qi Gong class!

d) Help mom out and show her I appreciate her.
1)Uh, why aren’t you doing that now? Give her a hug every day and tell her how much you appreciate her!
2)Ask her if there is anything she needs help with around the house or in her life and help her!

e) Pamper Yourself-
1)Do at least one special thing for yourself EVERY DAY.
2)If you want more money so that you can take better care of yourself (i.e. eat organic healthy food, personal trainers, beauty treatments, shopping), make sure you’re ALREADY taking care of yourself however you can. Give yourself a pedicure, manicure, lay down with an eye mask on with relaxing music playing and incense, ask a friend for a massage, drink a healthy drink, take your vitamins, pop in an exercise video (or youtube one), take the time to get ready and do your hair in the morning. Don’t be sloppy with yourself and expect the Universe to give you the resources to take better care of yourself when you aren't using what you already have! Take care of yourself now!

I hope you all enjoy the exercise and the extra happiness that living your life in the present brings! The goal is to be living your goals NOW. To be doing what you want to be doing and what brings you joy and happiness! While reaching certain “goals” may enhance your ability to do these things and take them to a new level, there is always something you can be doing in the current moment to enjoy the fruits that you expect your goal will bring you. Live in the now and be present so that the genius inside you will express itself through you!!

Sending you all happiness and joy,
J

My Own Special "Thank You Michael Jackson" Story

This isn’t a DIY type of blog entry. It's me just sharing my own experience…. I wrote the entry below the day after Michael Jackson died…. It’s sat in my journal and I wasn’t really planning on sharing it…. But everyone’s “Thank You Michael” posts/tweets have motivated me to share my own special “Thank You Michael” story. Because that's how I had ended my journal entry on June 26, 2009.

June 26, 2009 Entry:

I meditate daily for about 30-90 minutes a day, depending on how much time I am able to set aside (the way I see it, meditating is part of my job). Yesterday I had one of the most powerful meditation experiences of my life. I reached the kind of experience that many people spend years and years meditating trying to reach. And it involved Michael Jackson. Seriously.

Shortly after it was confirmed that Michael Jackson had indeed passed away, I decided that I must go on about my daily routine and meditate.

At about 30 minutes into my meditation, I found myself saying, “I am One with my Source” on the inhale and “I am One with my Creator” on the exhale. Over and over again, while feeling my brain kind of fog over, sinking into that beautiful white fog of serenity. I was saying it over and over again for awhile.

I was in a state of deep meditation and I know this because at some point I realized my mantra had unintentionally changed and I was saying “I am One with my people” as one of the phrases. In my meditative state, I remember noticing this change and trying to bring it back to my original mantra. I remember thinking, “No, wait, I’m trying to become One with God, why am I saying something else?” and tried to say “I am One with my Creator.” Instead, “I am One with ALL people” is what I chanted in my head (the only change was that the “my people” came out as “all people” this time around). I remember kinda getting frustrated with my inability to say what I wanted and trying to again switch it back to my original mantra , but I was too deep in meditation. I was at the point you’re kind of slurring your words and don’t have as much control. Then as “I am One with all people” played in my head AGAIN, all of a sudden a huge image of Michael Jackson’s face (circa the “Bad” days with a huge smile on it) made out of LIGHT, flashed in front of me. Suddenly, in a split second, my head had merged into the image in front of me or that image had merged into me (who knows. It happened so fast).

And immediately there was a huge explosion thing that took place inside of me and all of a sudden there were millions of particles of bright lights flashing and raining onto me. And huge amounts of energy rushing up and down my body. It immediately shocked me out of my meditative state, but I didn’t open my eyes. I just laid there with my eyes closed thinking “OMG, What just happened??!! Why are there particles coming into me? What’s going on?” And then I thought, “OMG!! I went into the light!! I WENT INTO THE LIGHT!!! I jumped off the wheel!!” And decided to calm down, take deep breaths, and allow the beautiful energy of love and joy that was falling into my energy field to just flood in. I remember thinking, “Okay. Aura, I’m not sure what’s going on, but please go ahead and absorb all the positive energy that is falling upon me right now.” And I laid there until the particles calmed down, sinking into me, and my energy settled a bit.

When I jumped out of bed, I thought, “I went into the light. I became one with the light! But wait…. Why was it Michael’s face I merged into??”

I decided to keep this experience to myself for at least awhile because it felt kind of special (hey it was my own lil good bye from Michael). So I haven’t yet told any of my spiritual teachers. One of the main goals of meditating is going into the light… And I’d been so close so many times in my past, but I tend to snap out of it/chicken out at last minute. I was glad that I had finally fully experienced the explosion/particles flying thing. Though my experience had been a bit different than what I had read about…

So today I’m at my mom’s house and my grandma is over there as well. I have my laptop out and I put on an old Michael Jackson video (“Don’t Stop til You Get Enough”). Immediately my grandmother starts crying and my mom’s eyes fill with tears and she leaves the room saying she can’t watch because she’s too emotional. My mother and my grandma do not even speak English. I sat there staring at the video, fighting a growing knot in my own throat as I watched my childhood idol.

And then the experience kind of hit me. 3 different generations in one room, 2 of them who do not speak any English and who grew up in Cuba. All felt enormous amounts of love for Michael and all had memories of their lives embedded in his music. I was suddenly amazed by Michael Jackson’s incredible ability to transcend cultures, languages, races, and generations.

Then it REALLY hit me. That was it. Michael transcended. Michael transcended through the human race. Whether through him everyone was able to see the part of themselves that’s free while singing, dancing, and full of joy or the part of themselves that houses that inner-child creativity that aches to burst out of each person.....I don't know but SOMEHOW Michael transcended all the long-standing barriers the human race has built.

Now it makes perfect sense that it was his face I saw as I jumped into the light and became One with not only my source, but with all people. Transcending the internal barriers that my own ego has built

And later on in the afternoon when I received an e-mail containing a tribute to Michael by popular hip hop and R&B artists, and I heard the first rap line, “….You’re Michael Jackson, I’m Michael Jackson, We’re all Michael Jackson,” I couldn’t help but smile. And think that Michael already knew all of this when at Disneyland he used to sing his "message" to me, "Can't you see?? YOU'RE JUST ANOTHER PART OF MEE!!"

Thank you Michael, for facilitating that beautiful experience in a way that my subconscious mind was able to handle.

That's the journal entry. And I also wanted to add a link to a clip of the beautiful tribute Agape (my "church") did for Michael Jackson the Sunday after he passed away. Siedah Garrett, the writer of "The Man in the Mirror" gave a beautiful, moving performance during Service (made all the news):

How to Harness the Power of the Lunar Eclipse

Hello! Just wanted to post some quick information for tomorrow's lunar eclipse. As a lot of you probably know, lunar eclipses can "wreak havoc" and they cause some people to worry. They're known for shaking things up and changing things. They're really powerful though and it's great to be able to tap into that power instead of just sitting around and going into emotional chaos.

Really it's a SUPER strong full moon and full moons are known for making things crazy on their own. LOL, I don't know how often I've heard people who work in emergency rooms or in the criminal system say that they know when it's the full moon period because the line goes around the corner. As one of my teachers once said, "Well you see what sort of effect the moon has on the ocean and tides, and how much of your body is made up of water???"

I'm particularly sensitive to full moons because I'm ruled by the Sun (Leo) and the Sun was squaring the Moon when I was born. So I've always felt the full moon period A LOT more than I've ever felt "that time of the month" for women. I used to get moody/emotional during full moons and even gain weight (retain water). Anyhow, ever since I started doing full moon meditations this period is a lot easier for me. It still tends to be the most hectic time of the month for me, BUT because OTHER people have emergencies and my schedule goes haywire (last full moon period I definitely had to leave my house after midnight in my pajamas to do healings). However, I find myself remaining emotionally solid, at peace, AND receiving blessings from these periods. :-)

So I generally do a group full moon meditation every month to harness the power of the full moon. Group meditations are lovely because they intensify the power and effect of the meditation. Since this month's full moon will be an eclipse, I thought I'd share the meditation with you all. It's free (though you are always welcomed to donate of course), it's wonderful, it's led live by one of my favorite spiritual teachers, it gives you great karma, and I'll be part of the group you're meditating with :-). And if you enjoy it, you can do it every full moon. Just follow the link below and call in at the time listed for your time zone, enter the code, sit down, and enjoy the meditation and the positive energy flowing through you:

Happy lunar eclipse y'all!!

Quick Test for Gauging How Close You Are to Manifesting Your Desires

I get more questions about manifesting than I get about any other subject and so I’ve written a lot in my past blog entries on the topic. Today I wanted to share a quick test for checking where you are in relation to what you are working on manifesting and to help you make sure you are heading in the right direction.

It’s super easy:

a) Quickly think about what you are working on manifesting.
b) What emotion did you feel when you thought about it?
c) Where does the emotion you felt fall on this scale?

1) Joy//Love/Appreciation/Freedom
2) Passion
3) Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness
4) Positive Expectation
5) Optimism
6) Hopefulness
7) Contentment
8) Boredom
9) Pessimism
10) Frustration/Irritation/Impatience
11) Overwhelment
12) Disappointment
13) Doubt
14) Worry
15) Blame
16) Discouragement
17) Anger
18) Revenge
19) Hatred/Rage
20) Jealousy
21) Insecurity/Guilt/Unworthiness
22) Fear/Grief/Depression/ Despair

Where you fall on the above scale reflects how close you are to manifesting your desire. If your emotion falls into the top slots, then you are in good shape. If you are falling into the bottom end, then you still have a way to go. I pulled the emotional scale above and the basics for the test from Esther and Jerry Hicks, Ask and It Is Given, a great book that I’ll discuss further below. But that’s the test. It’s that simple.

The concept is that your emotions serve as a GPS system that let’s you know how close you are to making your desires a reality. This test helps you figure out if when you are thinking about the item/situation you want to attract, you are REALLY focusing on what you want OR on the absence of it (i.e. what you DON’T want).

A problem that many people face when trying to manifest is that they have a tendency to focus on the ABSENCE of what they want rather than on what they actually want. So they are actually focusing on what they DON’T want. The test above helps you figure out if you’re making that mistake and are hence attracting the opposite of what you want. Because when you’re focusing on something you DON'T want, your emotions will be on the NEGATIVE end of the scale.

For example, let’s say you’ve been working on manifesting an extra $10,000 this month. To do the test above, you’d quickly think, “money” and see what you feel. If the emotion you feel is worry, then you know at the moment your thoughts are actually focused on the LACK of money rather than on money and that you are attracting being broke. Same thing if you’ve been working on manifesting a new car. What do you feel when you think about the car? Do you feel disappointment or do you feel excitement and gratitude?

I talk a lot about people’s vibrations and about what level they are vibrating. Primarily because I’m an energy healer, but also because it’s really important when it comes to manifesting greatness in your life.

I mentioned I pulled the basics for the test above out of Ask and It is Given, where the concept of the test above is a main theme. The book thoroughly explains the relationship between your vibration (which is dependent on your emotional mood) and attracting things into your life. It’s my personal favorite guide for manifesting and I generally assign it to clients after they’ve been working with me for a few months.

The book focuses on the premise of their being 3 basic parts of manifesting:

1) Asking for what you want (which just about everyone has down pat with their vision boards, etc);
2) The Universe answers by giving you what you want;
3) You then have to receive it- which is the challenging part and where your vibration plays a large role because you have to be on the right vibration to attract what you want into your life.

The book not only thoroughly discusses the relationship between your emotions/vibration and your manifestations, but the second half of the book is comprised of JUST exercises that help you release any resistance you have to reaching your goal AND that help raise your vibration so you can attract beautiful things into your life. It also provides great skills for mastering your emotions since the goal is to be vibrating as high as possible ALL the time and constantly attracting happiness and greatness into your life.

I’ll now quote from the book directly since it explains the concept of the test really well and touches on the importance of your vibration:

“The key to bringing something into your experience that you desire is to achieve vibrational harmony with what you desire. And the easiest way for you to achieve vibrational harmony with it is to imagine having it, pretend that it is already in your experience, and as you practice those thoughts and begin to consistently offer that vibration, you will then be in the place of allowing that into your experience.

Now by paying attention to the way you feel, you can easily know if you are giving your attention to your desire or if you are giving it to the absence of your desire. When your thoughts are a vibrational match to your desire, you feel good- your emotional range would be from contentment to expectation to eagerness to joy. But if you are giving your attention to the lack, or absence of your desire- your emotions would range from feelings of pessimism to worry to discouragement to anger to insecurity to depression.

And so, as you become consciously aware of your emotions, you will always know how you are doing with the allowing part of your Creative Process, and you will never again misunderstand why things are turning out the way they are. Your emotions provide a wonderful guidance system for you, and if you will pay attention to them, you will be able to guide yourself to anything that you desire.”

And I’ll close with this quote from the book:

“We want you to know that you always hold the power and control of your own life experience. The only reason that you could ever experience something other than what you desire is because you are giving the majority of your attention to something OTHER than what you desire.”

Courting Yourself- Important Relationship/LIFE Building Essentials

I’ll start off with my random writings/Court Yourself Exercise, then give some background explanation, and end with a more formal exercise.I have tons of notebooks sitting around with stream-of-consciousness writing because I have no training in poetry. And they just sit there. One of my friends was looking for stuff to turn into poetry the other day and I went through my notebooks to send her stuff. I ran into these entries and something told me to share it even though it’s not in poem-form or anything of that sort. However, I can’t even begin to describe the importance of this subject-matter.

This is written from a female perspective, but very applicable to men as well. Working with women in the area of self-esteem is one of my personal favorite things to do, so that’s why it’s written from that perspective. But the more healings I do, I find that men have the same issues/problems.

The first part was just the random thoughts I was sprawling in my notebook which then led me to write out the “Court Yourself” part. I remember was sitting at the ocean when I started doodling these random metaphysical thoughts that were going through my head.

Random Thoughts:

Why must we identify and put labels on everything?
From this day on, every time I run into something I don’t have a label or category for,
I’ll identify it as God.
It’s true identity.
And so the scary, unknown now becomes God.
The unknown becomes Light.
The unknown becomes Love.

Love.
There is no separation. I am the ocean and the ocean is me.
Love.
Have compassion for all, for they ARE you.
There is no difference. They ARE you.
But if you don’t love yourself,
Then it’s easy to understand why you can’t forgive or love others,
Who are you as well.

So love.

Let love shoot through you
From the top of your crown through your heart
Down to the soles of your feet.
Let it shoot through you
Infusing every cell and inch of your body with Aliveness
Inducing a permanent state of bliss.

And while reflecting on the above, I wrote:

COURT YOURSELF

When your mind starts to wander into the land of “Oh I wish I had someone. I wish I had the feeling of being in love….” always remember you have the ability to be in love with yourself.

People talk about the need to love yourself before you are able to love anyone else. As important as this concept is, it is so often strangely left right there, as an abstract, fluffy concept. But it’s a crucial concept that is easy to apply and once it clicks, it will never be abstract again.

It’s easy.
See yourself as your potential soul mate.
COURT yourself.
Make it your goal to make yourself fall in love with you.

So when, “I wish I had someone to hold me,” pops into your mind, remember to hold yourself.
You do have two arms.
And there are many who would love to have your arms wrapped around them, so enjoy your arms being wrapped around you, as someone else would enjoy having your arms wrapped around them.
Feel the warm loving energy coming from you. Give into your own arms.
Relax into them.
Surrender.

When you wish you had someone to listen to you, remember to listen to Yourself.
Sit there and REALLY listen to Yourself.
What does Yourself want? What does Yourself want you to know about her?
Ask.
What would bring Yourself joy at this very moment? What does Yourself dream of?
Make it happen for Yourself.

When you wish you had someone to drink wine with and enjoy the beautiful sunset, remember that you have yourself.
You can enjoy the sweet taste of wine against Your lips. Against Your tongue.
Drink that wine, enjoy that sunset.
Enjoy every last second of it like it was your last sunset on earth.

Court yourself.

Why is it so hard to remember that You are always there for you?

And courting Yourself is FUN. You know what you want. You know what you like.
So court yourself.

Give yourself a massage.
Give yourself a hug. Hold yourself. Enjoy the feel of your own skin and the warmth of your body.
Take yourself on beautiful dates and to fancy dinners.

MAKE yourself fall in love with you.
Love yourself with all your heart.
And when you love yourself enough, your soul will reveal all if it’s hidden secrets to you.
And you can then do an even better job of courting You and bringing joy to You.

Give you whatever YOU wants.
Spoil You.
Caress You.
Eat chocolate with You.
Write poetry to You.
Every thought that pops into your head that you’d like to have someone do for you, always remember that you can do it for You too.

Who’s company is better than your own? You always want to do the same thing, talk about the same things, explore the same things, go to the same places. No conflicts arise.

And if you want someone to challenge you, then challenge You!
If you want someone to flirt with, then flirt with You.
Give yourself a sly, secretive smile in the mirror,
Shower yourself with compliments,
Gently caress the soft skin surrounding your inner thighs,
Play with your hair,
Snuggle with You in bed.
Until the thought of You always brings a warm smile to your face.

But don’t ever try to impress You with all your feats and accolades.
It’s not about you, it’s about You.
Make sure your courtship is focused on giving You pleasure and making You feel good about herself.
This is not about you or how great you are, it’s about showering You with love and bringing joy and pleasure to You.
Follow this strategy, and You will fall madly in love with you.
And a perfect harmonic relationship will ensue.
A strong foundation on which you can then invite others to stand and to share your joy with because sharing your joy with the world enhances it.
But never allow them to replace your relationship with You or allow them to take You’s place.
Never forget that your relationship with You is your foundation for the joy and love you are now able to share.”

Explanation Part:

This might not be my most typical blog, but I really wanted to get into the importance of self-love. One of the things that brought me to energy healing was my constant quest for the answer to “the world’s problems.” I even went to Harvard Law School and got a nice degree in my quest to find this answer. At this point in my life, I really think it’s self-love. I believe that if we could get everyone to love themselves, then just about every problem would fade away. Think about it, if you genuinely love yourself, then you’re secure and you have no need to oppress others, exert some false power over others, or hoard resources to try to increase your sense of power.

In this blog I’m focusing more on the relationship aspect of it because I think it’s an essential element for a healthy, positive relationship. And I know people want those! As clichéd as loving yourself sounds, it’s important to understand it on a deeper level.

One of my favorite scenes from Rent has always been the fight scene where everyone is fighting and Mimi is yelling at Roger, “I’d be happy to die for a taste of what Angel had, someone to live for, unafraid to say I LOVE YOUUUU!!!’ And Roger stops her real quick and tells her that all her words are nice BUT, “You’ll never share real love until you love yourself- I should know!” (she's a drug addict- for those who've never seen it). LOL, I loved that scene when I was 15-years-old and thought I understood it pretty well back then. It’s waaaay too easy to think, “Of course I love myself!!!” when you don't really know what that means. Trust me when you REALLY love yourself, it clicks and you suddenly have no doubt about it. You’re suddenly in love with yourself and in love with the world around you. AND you’d be surprised by the quality of men that are suddenly lined up outside and blowing up your phone.

In order to explain some of my thoughts on self-love and how it relates to relationships, I’m just going to quote from a note I wrote for some of my friends on Valentine’s Day. And in that note I quoted my first blog entry on BlogSpot to emphasize the importance of knowing and loving yourself, so you can check that out afterward if you would like ( http://myspiritualstudies.blogspot.com/2008/12/love-and-manipulation.html ).

Quotes from Valentine’s Day Note
(again written from female perspective but applicable to men):

I seriously think relationships would last longer, be healthier, and women would overall be happier if women genuinely enjoyed being single instead of looking at it as some sort of curse. I rarely meet a woman who wouldn't benefit from taking some time to learn to genuinely love herself and learn what truly brings her joy, happiness, and purpose. All the things a woman should not be depending on a relationship for. Many women seem to think that as long as they're not financially-dependent on men, they're good, but really not being dependent on men for the things listed above is just as, if not more, important.

Until the right man (or lady) comes along, ENJOY YOURSELF. Don't spend precious moments of your short life STRESSING over being single. Enjoy the fact you still have the sort of freedom you are currently blessed with. And if you are lucky enough to be in a circle of friends where people still aren't married, ENJOY the last couple of years of being able to truly enjoy your friends without having to share. Shoot, this might be the last year of YOUR WHOLE LIFE where you and your best friend are both single. Do you really want to waste it trippin over not being in a relationship? If she gets married next year, I bet you'll look back on this year nostalgically, wishing you had this time back. This might really be the last stretch of your single days. Don't just waste them. And CERTAINLY don't just give them away to men you KNOW aren't right for you, but that you're settling for because you REALLY REALLY REALLY want to be in a relationship.

Aside from just enjoying your life, and in the process getting to really know yourself and what brings you joy and purpose, I want to go back to the point of learning to genuinely love yourself. I know many women are thinking, "Oh, but I do think I'm great. I do love myself. I have all my sh*t together." No. I'm not talking about "I don't think I'm terrible, I have so many accomplishments, and I think someone should love me" kind of love.

I'm talking about getting to the point where you love yourself so much, that you are not settling for men that are less than you deserve just because you need to feel love from an outside source to be validated and happy. I'm talking about getting to the point that you actually like the person you are and don't fear loneliness because you actually ENJOY your own company. I'm talking about getting to the point where you are SO secure that you no longer need to spend your time trying control men by means of manipulation.

If you get to that point, your next relationship will be soooooooooo unbelievably smooth. It will be magical. And it will have a real chance of actually lasting and being based on true love rather than FEAR.

With that being said, I think most people can benefit from being single and working on being able to supply their own joy, happiness, purpose, and love. And to me, it makes more sense to benefit from such periods than to throw that time away on the first random, somewhat attractive, somewhat accomplished man, who's not THAT bad "you guess", and who you think you could MAYBE fall in love with...... (The worst is when I watch women TALK THEMSELVES into liking/loving someone and THEN get their hearts broken by the guy. SMH. A guy she didn't even really like to begin with! This is scarily common). I'd rather enjoy my freedom and in the process get ready for a real relationship, than spend my time eagerly trying to jump into unsatisfying, "convenient" or dead-end relationships.

Granted, these are my opinions and I'm someone who's at a point in my life where I refuse to be in a relationship with anyone less than my soul mate or to settle for less than true unconditional love.

Other follow-up comments I posted on the topic:

You know how Cosmo and all those magazines tell young women that they need to figure out how to give themselves an orgasm and work their bodies FIRST, before they go to a guy expecting them to know how to do it for them? I feel like they should be giving the same advice about their HEARTS. You can't expect your boyfriend to make you happy when you have no idea how to make yourself happy. That's a lot of unfair pressure.

A surprising amount of women have no idea what makes them GENUINELY happy (i.e. you aren't doing it just to impress somebody else or to get praise). Everyone should have a list of things that brings joy to their heart instantly. That might put the anti-depressant industry out of business though.

And I’ll close the comments part of this blog with this:

Most women are in denial about their lack of self-love. My "You're not deficient" conversations with women often make me feel like I'm in a "Good Will Hunting" scene ("You are not deficient." "Oh, I know." "No. You are not deficient." "I know." Until tears start flowing out).

I wish I could sit with EVERY woman and yell "LOVE YOURSELVES!! You are a creative manifestation of the Divine! The exact same God, or Force, Energy, Big Bang, WHATEVER you believe in, the EXACT SAME hand that created that absolutely breathtaking sunset over that beautiful ocean, and those stunning, awe-inspiring mountain ranges, THAT same hand created YOU. YOU ARE NOT DEFICIENT. Regardless of what the media has told you, what your parents have told you, what that little boy in 3rd grade said to you. I PROMISE you they were wrong. You are not deficient in any way. You ARE good enough."

Formalizing “Court Yourself”:

1) Make a list of 30 things that make you GENUINELY happy. Things that would bring you instant joy if you did them right now. If you can’t come up with 30 then start working on figuring it out until you get a list of at least 30.

2) This week take yourself on a date. Actually take the time to plan it out so that you can come up with the kind of date that would impress you if someone else planned it for you. And then repeat this exercise once a week.
I started doing this when I was working through “The Artist’s Way” since it’s one of the exercises given. And it’s a wonderful experience. Everyone I’ve had work through that book finds a lot of value in this exercise. It can be anything. People often start doing things they hadn’t done since childhood, like riding your bike through the park and eating snow cones. Just make sure it’s something you really enjoy and really makes you happy. Switch it up every week. Experiment with it. Get creative. I bought myself a Slip n Slide once. And NO ONE else can come on this date with you. It’s pretty fun to spoil yourself on your self-dates.

P.S. And this isn't just important for relationships. It's important for LIFE because you want to spend as much of your time as possible in a state of joy. You want to vibrate at the frequency of joy so you can attract all kinds of greatness to yourself and keep the lower-vibrating stuff away! So you should be familiar with how to induce a state of joy within yourself at all times!

Enjoy!
